Blog Setup

When I started my blogs back in 2017, I the first things I learnt were how to Set up blog tools: Jekyll and Atom. The second blog I created was on Setup GitHub pages and includes more details on how Jekyll works. I then searched for a Jekyll theme to use for all my blogs and finally selected So Simple by Michael Rose. Since I started with So Simple it has gone through a major upgrade, but I still use the older version. Mainly because I customized it extensively to fit my needs as described in my blog on Setup Jekyll Theme Blog.

• Setup GitHub pages Setup GitHub and publish web-page with customised style The blog contains a single blog post written in markdown, with instructions for how to create a GitHub.com hosted blog from scratch, without using any template. The blog also describes how to set up a GitHub account using GitHub desktop and then publish the blog on GitHub.com.”
• Setup Jekyll blog Set up blog tools: Jekyll and Atom Repository containing a single blog and a single blog post. On how to set up the blog and blog post itself. The set up uses Jekyll and the default theme minima that comes with Jekyll. The blog also introduces Atom for managing local repository clones and for editing markdown files.
