Introduktion
Identifying a suitable Infra-Red (IR) light source for the near-IR (NIR) to mid-IR (MIR) regions has turned out to be difficult. A separate post deals with xenon bulbs; this post covers different generation of an OSRAM NIR IR Light Emitting Diode (LED). Note that OSRAM offers a range of high quality LEDs that could also be suitable as light sources in other wavelengths. KOLLA VAD DET SITTER FOER LJUS TILL HAMAMATSUN (groupgets break out board).
Generations of OSRAM IR LED
The IR emitting diode by OSRAM is now (July 2021) at its 4th generation:
- 1 OSLON® Black flat, SFH 4735
- 2 OSLON® Black, SFH 4736
- 3 SYNIOS® P2720, SFH 4776
- 4 OSLON® P1616, SFH 4737
At time of writing this, in July 2021, the active product is the OSLON® P1616, SFH 4737.
SFH 4735
The SFH 4735 version is still available from Farnell.se at 22 SEK (2 €) each. Also Mouser.se has a stock, but at around 6 €.
SFH 4736
SFH 4736 is also discontinued, but at time of writing available from Mouser.se at around 6 €.
SFH 4776
SFH 4776 is available, despite also being discontinued, from Farnell.se at 30 SEK (24 if more than 5). Also Mouser has a stock, but again at slightly higher prices. The SFH 4776 version differs in the sense that it is embedded in a small dish with larger soldering pads (See figure above).
SFH 4737
This active (July 2021) LED IR emitter is available from Elfa at 57 SEK (5 €), or (Mouser)[https://www.mouser.se/ProductDetail/OSRAM-Opto-Semiconductors/SFH-4737?qs=%2Fha2pyFaduiBTvM0K1qC4hrZq3GQUj67tKSxT3gswYs%3D] at 5.5 €.
